Christmas and Sunshine !

It has been a funny old week, the lovely sunshine has been great but just did not feel right at all! The fair has just been here in Scarborough and normally you have to get all bundled up in boots and scarves and go out in the dark. Going to the fair in a t shirt and sandals! well it did not feel quite right and to be honest not as enjoyable really. Still Fin and Gabs had a great time as always, though I must say that £2.50 for Hook a Duck does seem a little steep!
It also feels a bit weird getting ready for Halloween and Christmas! glorious sunshine and people asking for Christmas Cards to be made seemed odd last week.  I have been making my old favourites for Christmas, I have added two new designs but forgot to take a pic! Will do that tomorrow!

I always love making Christmas Cards. I start doing a set theme but then just ad random ones that I feel like making that day!
I have made some Halloween goodies as well, forgot to take pics of them too! will do that tomorrow!

I have also been having to make lots of these!!

I am glad I decided to put them out early!

Fin won all his matches at his Whitby tournament and was pleased as punch with himself, though he was tired! He has been doing well in his Sunday league matches too and has won his games and has managed to score every week!
Fin had a lovely start to his birthday and we celebrated it on the Sunday so Will could be with us, (he works nights!) so we had a nice meal out and went down to the sea front for an ice cream afterwards. Monday came with Fin desperate to get up at 5.30am!! hmmm! made him wait till 7.00! was very pleased with his new Man Utd top and little pressies. I had planned a lovely birthday tea, Grandma and Grandad were coming and we had lovely cake! Poor Gabs had an asthma attack and Gabs and I spent Fins birthday night in hospital! Will didn't go to work obviously to stay with Fin, so they had a boy night and watched a film, we did however save the cake for when Gabs was better! Good old Fin, he didn't moan a bit!
Gabs is totally better now, back on steroids and all the medicines now.
I have a lot of blog catching up to do now and I do apologise for my lack of commenting but will get right onto it this week! Have a great week everyone.

Happy Birthday Fin!!

I cannot believe that my little boy turns 11 tomorrow, where have those years gone! Fin is such a happy go lucky boy and a real pleasure to be around and with my hubby working nights Fin is really good company for me! In fact sometimes I tend to be a bit selfish and let him stay up to be with me!! I have made myself stop this as he does need his sleep!! Joking aside, Happy Birthday Fin!! Obviously his pressies are footy based with a new Man Utd kit out!! He is very happy as his footy season has started, so I am now back to having peaceful cleaning time on a Sunday!!

Both Fin and Gabs are well into school now and are doing lots of after school clubs! Fin is very happy and likes his teacher, though he does moan about all the work!! He is very excited as he has been officially picked for the school footy team and is going to play in a tournament next week so will be away for a night in Whitby, I am so glad he was picked, it would not have been a very happy house if he had not got in the team!!
Gabs likes school and loves seeing all her friends but I will have to tell you something she said,
"My teacher smiled today! but it wasn't at me!!" Bless her!
Have a good week everyone.

Hi there!

Morning everyone! Just a real quick post before I go off on the school run! Fin and Gabs are loving their new classes, Fin is in his final year at Primary and gabs has gone up into the Juniors and is having a fab time. Fin has "A lot of work to do" a disgruntled quote from him! It is taking a bit of getting used to after six weeks of not having to rush I must say!
I have been working on some new things, mainly Christmas but I did do one order that I can now show you as the lady now has her card!

I really enjoyed doing this one! and the following one was one of many graduation orders I have done,

I have been doing a lot of line drawing lately and keep getting orders for cards with the drawing on too.
I am preparing for my first ever exhibition on a large scale at the moment, it is on Monday evening and I am a little nervous but excited too. I will post the photos after the open evening for you to see!
I also am doing a Wedding Fair this weekend too at a lovely old Church and the Archbishop of York is coming to the open evening on Friday, we are all going to that so it should be a lovely evening.
Fin and Gabs are promptly putting coats on so must go, Have a great day everyone and avoid the rain if you can!

Mad makes before a break!!

I am officially having a week off!! I had to do some mad making first though, two orders for two lovely new stockists, more about that later and a project for a new magazine, more about that later too! Can't say yet! plus I needed to make sure the shop was fully stocked for when I get back in or I would just worry about it the whole time I am off. We are not going away or anything, just taking Fin and Gabs off for days out and about. Though today we have just been tourists at home and had a lovely day having coffee and not rushing about, we did manage to get the last of the school things bought today as well (cannot believe how quickly the school holidays have gone!)
I have got some lovely new things in from the talented Zoe at Scented Sweetpeas, lovely hairclips and headbands,

The little girls are really loving them! take a look at Zoe's great bloghttp://scentedsweetpeas.blogspot.com/ it is a lovely blog and you can also look at Zoe's shop too, http://scentedsweetpeas-blogshop.blogspot.com/ and see all of Zoe's great makes.

Here are some of my mad makes!

Yes already!! People are mentioning the C word!! Have a nice stock of Christmas Cards made just not sure when to frighten people and put them out! It is too early for me and I was genuinely shocked when asked to see samples for Christmas! I have taken some more mad makes pics on my phone but cannot for the life of me get them from my Blackberry to my computer! I will have to study the manual a bit more!
Have a lovely week everyone, hopefully with a bit of Sun amidst the rain!

The PJ Day that never happened!! and some new and some old designs.

We all fully intended to have a Sunday PJ day this Sunday! It never happened! though we did have a bit of a lie in for once, ie Gabs slept till six instead of five!!! We ended up on a mammoth walk instead all around the bay where we live and along the beach, paddling in the sea along the way, it was much better than a PJ day any day as the sun shone all day long. We finished the day off by having a three hour game of Monopoly the four of us!, it was fab! I have been doing lots of orders but also trying to come up with some new things in between trying to keep Fin and Gabs occupied, this can prove a little difficult when they get bored, so I have been in and out of my shop really to keep them happy! Have managed to keep stock levels up though and add a few new makes.

I cannot make enough of these, and they are now in one of our local galleries.

This an adaption from a card that I have done for years and have made into a picture, this is soon to be in the Gallery too.

There is a great swap going on over at Blueberry Heart, I have joined in. It sounds good!

  Have a great week everyone!

Plus a fantastic bundle of scraps

and to finish off with, some groovy bottle tops, the lovely postcard, a super little notebook and a gorgeous lavender heart.

http://mumuandsqueaksplace.blogspot.com/

I have made use of the lovely floral fat quarter already and made this with it!

Hubby and I have had a rare treat this weekend, I took a bit of time off and we had a night on our own without Fin and Gabs! We have never been away anywhere and not taken them with us before and Fin is nearly eleven!!! We only went to York for the weekend but we had a great time mooching around, though we did find ourselves talking about Fin and Gabs all the time !! we missed them but enjoyed it at the same time!! I didn't take the camera so have not got any pics, I even didn't take a notebook, strict orders to have a proper weekend off from Will! I have it all stored in my head though!
Well the school holidays begin! A whole six weeks of no school run! I am so pleased, Gabs is going to be my helper this holidays! in between going out for walks and ice cream with Grandma and Auntie! Fin is just happy to be able to lie in and play footy all day!!! He has his friends lined up to meet!
Hope you all have a great week ahead and if you are going off on your summer hols, have a lovely time.

I won a Giveaway!

I was really lucky to have won a great giveaway over at Alix's blog Used to Bees, it arrived today and I just had to show you, it's fab!

These lovely little packages all wrapped up in Lilac tissue,

My favourite thing in the whole world! A beautiful covered Notebook and it has great images of Scarborough on, this is going to be my New Ideas Book!

A lovely book this time covered with a vintage cloth, too nice to use!

A gorgeous felted brooch, Gabs tried to claim this as soon as she saw it!!

A brilliant Union Jack pin cushion with a beautiful pin attached,

This lovely, lovely bag which came home with me tonight, full with my work for tonight! It is different on both sides and is just perfect.

This is great, it is lovely to look at and I could never cut it up but will get lots of inspiration from it.
Thank you to Alix, I love all my goodies they are perfect. If you haven't seen Alixs' blog go over and have a look, it is a lovely blog and I have been a follower for a long time, you will find her at
http://used-to-bees.blogspot.com/
You will love it!

Well, it sure is busy this week! All sorts going on at school, I actually have to check the letters each night so I don't forget anything! It is tricky as Fin and Gabs go to the same school but one is in the infants and one is in the juniors and they are actually classed as different schools! I have actually had to apply for Gabs to go to the Juniors! it is only across the playground! It will be better after the summer as both will be in the Juniors.
Gabs had her end of term concert today and she was an acrobat in a circus, it was lovely to watch, the children had great fun.

Fin is chuffed as reading books have been returned, all Library books taken back and no more spellings!!! That says it all, think he is ready to break up and have a few lie ins. I must admit it will be good to not have the school run for a while! Especially as it has done nothing but rain lately.

I have promised Fin and Gabs that there pressies for their teachers will be finished tonight so I had better go finish them off!

Have a really good week everyone and I hope you have better weather than we are having here in not so Sunny Scarborough!
